https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerocomus_subtomentosus It occurs throughout Eurasia, North America and Australia and grows with a wide range of hardwood and conifer trees. The olive to tan fruit body cap is up to 10 cm in diameter and has a distinctive velvety surface. The pore surface is yellow and bruises blue. The stipe, or stem, measures up to 8 cm tall and 2 cm thick. It is edible, though not as highly regarded as other bolete mushrooms.
